english today

today in english wasnt that bad. we have been debating basically since last and its really not that bad . i actually enjoy doing this. usually im sitting there bored with nothing to say but today i actually spoke. i usually dont say things because of whta people might say and if someone will laugh but today i didnt care. we were talking about homosexuals and what they have to go through. it sounds like they have it bad. they are rejected by loads upon loads of people and its kind of sad. sometimes families are judgmental about them being the way they are and even random people are to. its a bad exuse to say that you are the you are because you  were raised that way. that is not true because you  and everyone  else is entiled to their own opinion and no one can live your life for you except you.

The Mascot, Night John and The Great Debaters

i actually get points for doing this!!!! night john is about a girl named sarny who lives on a plantation and lives with her mother. She doesn't know how to read nor write. pretty much no one around her can. she talks about life as a slave and the hardships they go through. one day when they doing workin the fields, she saw her owner bring in a new edition to land. his name was John. John had escaped from where ever he worked to the north . while he was there he learned to read and write. after he learned to do these things he returned to teach other slaves to read and write and that is just what Sarny needed. as Sarny started to learn, her mother said it was bad idea and that there was no point. but she was wrong. The story Mascot was about a man named Malcolm X. he grew up in a really rough and hard childhood and was just trying to get out.he always dreamed of being a boxer like the famous Joe Louis, who won heavy weight champion of the world. that's what he wanted to do and be. he also tried to be like his brother Philbert. so he signed up to be in boxing match and was to face off a white boy named Bill Peterson. he lost and was humiliated. so to show was not whimp or scared he decided to do a rematch. He lost again with one punch to the face. thats has to suck. After all this happened to him htings went down hill for him. he was sent to a different school where all the bad kids went. he cleaned himself up and became a muslim and tried to  spread the word about equality and rights but mainly for black people. next is the Great Debaters. this movie is alot similar to the two stories. African Americans trying to fight for their rights by going around to other schools and discussing there thought and thier arguments. they experienced some obsticles in their path to victory that many people couldn't get past. civil disobedience is they did. they didnt use violence to furfill their futures. they did what they thought was the right thing to do in their own minds. they were also thinking about the others who struggle from predjudice and racial things. all three of these powerful peices all have a messege to many people. i think that it is to never give up no mattter how hard things are in your life.
